Pie Fund-raiser
Our change fund-raiser ended on Wednesday of last week and I was the lucky winner for 3rd grade. The two schools combined to raise almost $1,400 in just over a week. The kids had a great time at the assembly.

Visit from Mr. Schwartz
Mr. Schwartz came and talked to our class about Alaska. He lived there for 8 years. He showed us many neat artifacts and taught us about the land. They really enjoyed seeing the different things he brought in as well as the pictures.

You can put loose change in whatever teachers jar you would like. The teacher with the most money at the end of the week will get a pie in the face 2) The book fair will be going on at central this week during the conferences 3) we will dismiss at 2:30 on Tuesday and Thursday and we will not have school on Friday.

Buddy Ready for Valentines
We went over to Lark again today to read for our kindergarten buddies. Both of the grades really enjoy this. The kindergartners look up to our class and like having someone read to them. We made them little Valentine's and put suckers on them. Our class likes being able to teach them new words and listening to the kindergartners read their books to us.

Art blog
there is some very cool art from our students on Miss Kolbo's blog. You can go to it by copying the link and pasting it into your browser http://wondersinroom15.blogspot.com/
Sumdog-Math practice
I will be sending home a note today about www.sumdog.com. It is a math website to help practice new facts and reinforce things that we have already learned. Each student will have their own user name and password that was assigned to them. This will be attached to the note. I will be able to give them different things to work on through the website. It is not required, it is just extra practice. The more we use it the more points we can build up for our school. I can go in and check student progress and see which games they are playing. The log in will be in the upper right corner of the home screen. This is one more way to make learning fun!!

Book Orders
I sent home a paper yesterday explaining how to do our book orders online. It is pretty easy to use. I also made it so you could view the 4-6 grade books. This should give you more options. It also allows you to pay with a debit or credit card. You do not have to get them online if you do not want to. You can still send the order forms back to me and I will send it in. If you have any questions you can call or email me.
